Nadia Figueroa
Mexico City
While studying fashion design, I developed a particular interest in care of the environment. I have researched natural dyes, such as as indigo, grana cochinilla, and native flowers, and traditional Mexican weaving. I enjoy creating experimental 3D weaving pieces. I have been part of “Las 3 Marías” collective in Mexico that has a focus on slow fashion.
The photos below are part of the result pf the Mexican Folk Art Collective natural dyes and back strap weaving I led as a cultural interchange in Viola, Wisconsin, hosted by Driftless Curiosity.
